Passengers on a British Airways flight from London were kept on the
aircraft for over two hours after a young African girl complained of
feeling unwell on the flight. They were force to land after a 10-year-
old girl, supposedly from Nigeria, during the flight was seriously ill and
was possibly infected with the deadly Ebola virus.

Airline passengers in Scotland were at the centre of an Ebola scare
after their plane was quarantined at Aberdeen airport. Passengers on
a British Airways flight from London were kept on the aircraft for
over two hours after a 10-year-old girl, believed to be of Nigerian
descent, was "violently sick" on-board the BA1314 service.
Environmental Health and trained infectious diseases medics immediately
quarantined the aircraft until the sick passenger could be safely
removed. It's understood the girl travelled from infected regions in
Africa.

passengers watched on in horror. One man, whose pregnant daughter
was on the flight, said:
"We tried to get information but nobody was returning our calls. "The
passengers weren't being told anything other than the girl was sick and
quarantine measures were put in place."
He said the experience was stressful for the passengers and staff
on the flight. The girl was later transferred to the infectious diseases
unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where further tests will be carried
out.
Some 480 Nigerian soldiers have fled into Cameroon following fierce
fighting with Boko Haram militants, Cameroon’s army has said.
Army spokesman, Lt Col Didier Badjek, said the soldiers had been
disarmed and were now being accommodated in schools.
Clashes are said to be continuing in the border town of Gamboru Ngala.
Boko Haram on Sunday released a video in which it said it had established

This is so heart breaking!! The National Deputy Chief Medical Doctor in Liberia, Abraham Borbor, has died from the Ebola virus disease despite taking the experimental drug, ZMapp.
The late doctor contracted the deadly virus while attending to Ebola patients at the John F. Kennedy Medical Centre in Monrovia.
Liberia’s Minister of Information Lewis Brown announced his death to reporters in Monrovia this morning and said the late doctor was improving as at yesterday August 24th but suddenly took ill and died.

A man in Jigawa has performed a remarkable deed as he found and
returned N17 Million. 37-year-old Yusuf Usman discovered the money in
an iPad jacket in one of the rooms he supervises at the Three-Star
Hotel in, Dutse, Jigawa. Usman earns just N20,000 monthly but that
did not tempt him to keep the money. He said: “I have been with State,
for the past 15 years and I am currently their Reception Manager.
What actually happened was that on that fateful day that I found the
money, I was on my way from reception to see one of the house-
keepers. I passed through the hotel garden where some of our
guests usually relax.
As I was going, I saw an iPad lying close to one of the flowers in the
garden and there was nobody there. So I went and took the iPad so
that I could take it to the reception and wait for the owner who may
come for it later.
When I looked at it closely, I saw some foreign currency and some wad
of naira notes in the iPad jacket.
I quickly took it to the management and I was asked to keep the
money and the iPad in my safe at the reception. I did not count the
money myself,” “Three days later, a staff of Jigawa College of Health
Technology, Jahun, who came to book the hotel for their guests called
me and said that one of the guests, who was lodged in the hotel had
called to say that he misplaced his iPad containing some money, but can’t
remember whether it was in the hotel he forgot it or not.

A family in Alabama are celebrating after catching the largest alligator
ever recorded which measured 15-feet long and weighed 1,011.5

Eight year old Kaleem has been finding it very dificult to live a normal
life. The young indian and his family who barely survive on an income of
£15 a month are still trying to find a solution to his problem.
Kaleem has probably got the biggest hands ever, both weigh more than 2
stone.He is unable to carry out simple tasks like tieing his shoes and
buttoning his shirt and gets bullied a lot in school.
His mother Haleema, 27, said she knew he was different at birth but
was powerless to help and the youngster’s hands have now grown so
large they measure 13 inches from the base of his palm to the end of
his middle finger. He currently does not go to
school anymore because his teachers complained that his hands scare
other children.
Kaleem’s case is very rare as doctors are puzzled with his condition.
This young man is said to reside in Ondo, Ondo State capital. According to gathered reports from Vanguard, the boy was said to have committed the act after the owner of the chicken Mrs Stella caught him. The woman, who is the boy's neighbour reared the chicken and she heard the chicken making noise inside their pen and decided to go check why wey are so restless. On getting there, she saw the boy leaving from a corner and said he had stomach ache. When he left, she saw one of her hens dead and properly examined what could have caused the death. When she tried to raise an alarm, the 19 year old confessed that he had intercourse with it till it died...
The boy said, it was a spirit that directed him to commit the act..

It was gathered that the mobile policeman had demanded to check the

Banks customers will from September 1, 2014 pay a token for cash
withdrawals made on other banks’ Automated Teller Machines, the
Central Bank of Nigeria said in a directive released on Wednesday.
The re-introduction of the ATM charges came almost two years after
the CBN and the Deposit Money Banks cancelled the N100 ATM charge
in December 2012.
The new directive for the reintroduction of the charge was posted on
the CBN website, but instead of N100 per withdrawal, customers using
other banks’ ATMs will now pay N65.
According to the order, which was contained in the circular signed by
the Director, Banking and Payment Systems Department, CBN, Mr. Dipo
Fatokun, the central bank and the DMBs agreed to re-introduce the
ATM charges because the cost of transaction was becoming too
burdensome for the banks to continue to bear.
Fatokun also said the charge would become effective on the fourth
ATM withdrawal in a month, thus making the first three withdrawals on
other banks’ ATMs within the month free.
The circular dated August 13, 2014, read, “The CBN hereby issues the
following directives: The re-introduction of ‘Remote-on-us’ ATM cash
withdrawal transaction fee, which will now be N65 per transaction, to
cover the remuneration of switches, ATM monitoring and fit-notes
processing by acquiring banks; the new charge shall apply as from the
fourth ‘Remote-on-us’ withdrawal (in a month) by a cardholder, thereby
making the first three ‘Remote on us’ transaction free for the
cardholder, but to the paid by the issuing bank.
“September 1, 2014 shall be the effective date for the implementation
of the new charge; banks are expected to conduct adequate
sensitisation to the customers on the introduction of the new fee; all
ATM cash withdrawals on the ATM of issuing banks shall be at no cost
to the cardholder.”
The CBN, in collaboration with the Bankers’ Committee, had in December
2012 transferred the payment of the N100 fee on ‘Remote-on-us’
ATM cash withdrawal transactions to the issuing banks.
The fee was shared between the acquiring bank, issuing bank and
switch companies at the commencement of the arrangement.
However, Fatokun, in the latest circular, noted that issuing banks had
during the commencement of the arrangement in 2012 decided to
waive the issuer fee of N35, which should ordinarily have been an
income to them.
He further said, “Consequently, banks only bore the cost of N65 each
time their customers use another banks’ ATMs.
“However, as a result of the unintended consequences of the decision,
which has resulted in substantial cost burden incurred by banks in
defraying the cost of the service, the payment structure for card
carrying bank customers is hereby reviewed in line with present
realities.”
Relief appears to be on the way of Ebola Virus Disease ( EVD )
patients as the Federal Government Thursday ordered for drugs to
be given to the patients.
Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu briefing journalists in
Abuja on the update of the virus said,
“the drug, Nano Silver is already on its way to Lagos, Thursday
morning.”
He explained that the drug
“was provided by a Nigerian scientist and has been used
experimentally.”
The minister also clarified that there are no cases of Ebola in Enugu,
adding that, rumours of
possible cases in Abia, Anambra, Imo and fears on Cross River States
have been ruled out as
there is no single case of Ebola in those states.
Chukwu also hinted that government is to apply
to WHO for drugs that have donated the organisation.
Obi Justina Ejelonu, a nurse who attended to Patrick Sawyer, a
Liberian-American Ebola carrier who flew to Nigeria on his way to
attend a conference in Calabar, has died. Her relatives rang
SaharaReporters moments ago with news that she passed away this
morning. Ms. Ejelonu had been kept in a quarantine facility in Lagos.
Until her death, the outdpoken nurse was at the center of a campaign
to get the Zmapp experimental drugs to Ebola victims in Nigeria. John
Okiyi-Kalu started the Internet campaign a few days ago.
Ms. Ejelonu was one of the primary contacts with Patrick Sawyer at a
Lagos Hospital where he received treatment after he was rushed from
the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos where he collapsed. She was
aged 25, her relatives said.
